Set up AI governance
AI Governance Framework
The AI Governance Framework for marketing organises control in six areas: policy, roles, data, disclosure, risk tiers and review, so that AI use is safe, legal, on brand and auditable.
The model
- Policy
- Roles
- Data
- Disclosure
- Risk tiers
- Review

What each part means
- Policy
- Which AI tools may be used, for what, and what is never allowed, written in one page everyone can find.
- Roles
- Who owns each AI workflow, who approves output, and who can stop it.
- Data
- What data may enter which tool, under which agreement, and how long logs are kept.
- Disclosure
- When and how AI-generated content is labelled, in line with the EU AI Act and platform rules.
- Risk tiers
- A simple scale that sets the level of review for each use case by its error cost and exposure.
- Review
- The cadence for checking outputs, logs, incidents and the policy itself.
How to use it
- Start with the ten-point check; close the gaps that touch customers or personal data first.
- Keep governance proportional: a short policy that people use beats a long one they ignore.
- Review the framework after every incident and at least twice a year.
