Use AI to find conflicting journeys before launch
Test overlapping onboarding, renewal and upsell journeys with representative profiles, then resolve contradictory messages through explicit priority rules.
A campaign can pass its own quality checks and still contradict another live journey. One customer might receive a welcome tutorial, an upgrade offer and a renewal warning on the same day. Use AI to help inspect the combined experience, then verify conflicts against explicit rules and realistic event sequences.
Build a journey inventory
For each active program, record entry conditions, exit events, message purpose, timing and owner. Include transactional and service journeys in the review even when their delivery rules differ. AI can summarize this inventory and suggest potential collisions, but campaign settings remain the source of truth. A fluent summary is not evidence that the underlying logic was understood correctly.
Create representative test profiles
Design synthetic profiles that cross important boundaries: recently activated and near renewal, upgraded while in onboarding, or awaiting support during an upsell campaign. Include late events and changed preferences. Run each profile through the proposed schedules and assemble the actual sequence of eligible messages rather than reviewing campaigns in isolation.
Resolve the conflict explicitly
Agree a priority rule for each material collision. For example, a completed upgrade should invalidate the old upgrade offer, while an unresolved billing issue may require a service-led response. Do not let an optimizer decide these priorities from click predictions. Put the rule in the sending system and test both the expected result and the exception path.
Keep a regression set
Save problematic profiles and rerun them when campaign conditions change. Braze positions decisioning within interconnected customer journeys. [1] Your quality process should therefore inspect the customer-level timeline as well as each campaign. Track contradictory sends, incorrect exclusions and time to resolution. The outcome is a small reusable set of scenarios that prevents previously solved conflicts from returning with the next launch.
