Editorial standards & independence
Standards for sourcing, AI assistance, corrections and commercial independence.
Evidence and useful context
Our publishing standard is to explain what changed, why it matters to marketing and where the evidence stops. Prefer primary documentation, original research and direct statements. Identify dates, scope, limitations and material conflicts. Distinguish observations, estimates and editorial judgment. An unattributed statistic or AI-generated citation is not sufficient evidence.
Authorship and AI
Use an accountable author or editorial owner. AI may assist drafting, translation and organisation; factual verification, rights checks and editorial decisions remain human responsibilities. Do not label an item “human reviewed” unless that review occurred. Clearly identify materially generated or automated content where readers need the distinction or law requires it. See AI use.
Sources, RSS and copyright
RSS and source links help discover developments; access to a feed is not permission to reproduce full articles or images. Write original analysis, use only justified quotations, credit the original source and respect licences. Do not create near-copies of another publisher’s article by paraphrasing its whole structure. Correct broken or misattributed sources when identified.
Commercial independence
Payment must not determine an independent conclusion, suppress justified criticism or buy an undisclosed ranking. Advertising and sponsored work need prominent labels, with the sponsor and material relationship identifiable. Separate sponsor fact-checking from control over findings. Disclose gifts, affiliate incentives or other relationships that may affect how readers assess the work.
Updates and corrections
Use publication and substantive-update dates honestly; changing a date alone is not a content review. Material errors should receive a clear correction, while minor spelling fixes need not become a new article. Preserve an appropriate correction record. This policy is the publishing standard, not a claim that every historical item has undergone an independent audit. Report issues through Corrections.
