Plan AI product videos that preserve product truth
Build AI assisted product video storyboards with reference assets, fidelity checks and a clear decision about scenes that require real footage.
A compelling product video can still mislead if a generated scene changes the product’s dimensions, controls or behavior. Plan the evidence requirements before generating shots. Creative production developments make more variants possible, but product truth remains a separate review task. [1]
Divide scenes by purpose
Classify each shot as atmosphere, explanation or demonstration. A conceptual background may allow creative freedom. A close-up showing how a mechanism works needs accurate references and may require real footage. Do not let a visual metaphor appear to prove a physical capability.
Prepare a reference pack
Use approved product photos, dimensions, packaging and permitted claims. Identify details that must remain exact, including connectors, labels and accessories. Give the production team a checklist that can be applied frame by frame rather than a general request to make the product accurate.
Review motion as well as appearance
Inspect transitions, interactions and implied results. A device that looks correct in a still frame may move impossibly in the next second. Check whether the scene suggests speed, durability or ease of use that has not been substantiated.
Choose honest production methods
Replace unreliable generated demonstrations with real footage or clearly presented diagrams. Keep a record of which shots are generated and use appropriate disclosure for the final context. Test the video with viewers: ask what they believe the product can do. Their interpretation is a useful check on promises that the script never states explicitly.
