SEO Practical insights
Image SEO for AI assisted product photography
Protect product accuracy in generated imagery and combine useful image context, accessible descriptions and efficient delivery before scaling production.
AI-assisted product imagery must represent the item accurately before it can serve marketing well. A visually impressive image that changes a connector, material or included accessory can mislead the buyer. Treat product fidelity as an approval requirement, not a final cosmetic check.
Define what may change
Separate the product from its setting. Background, lighting and composition may be flexible while dimensions, color, controls and supplied parts remain fixed. Use approved references and compare the output against them. Reject images that imply capabilities or bundles the product does not have.
Give the image useful context
Place it near the relevant explanation and use a descriptive filename. Write alternative text for the information the image contributes, without stuffing keywords or repeating nearby text unnecessarily. Google’s image guidance emphasizes the surrounding page and accessible image handling. [1]
Deliver the right image efficiently
Create appropriate responsive sizes and declare dimensions to reduce layout movement. Compress while preserving the detail needed to judge the product. Test the main image on mobile and avoid making the visitor download an oversized asset solely for a small card. Keep important specifications available as text.
Label illustrations honestly
When a generated scene is illustrative rather than a photograph of an actual use, make that distinction clear where it affects interpretation. Retain provenance and required disclosures. The image should help the customer understand the product, not manufacture evidence of a real customer installation or a test that never happened.
