AI Agents & Automation Practical insights
Use an AI agent to prepare event follow up
Turn permitted event notes into traceable lead summaries and reviewed follow-up drafts while preserving contact preferences and the original context.
An event follow-up agent can help a team remember what each person actually discussed. Its first output should be a useful preparation package: a sourced summary, an appropriate next step and a draft for review. Attending an event alone does not establish permission for every future message.
Preserve the conversation context
Use authorized registration details and meeting notes, including the source and date. Distinguish a stated requirement from a salesperson’s interpretation. If someone asked only for presentation slides, do not turn that request into an assumed buying project.
Connect evidence to the next step
Match explicit interests to approved resources. A question about measurement might justify a relevant research link; a request for a demonstration might justify a scheduling draft. Salesforce’s marketing-agent announcement illustrates how campaign work is moving into conversational workflows. [1] That capability does not remove the need to verify the recipient and purpose.
Make review efficient
Show the reviewer the relevant note, proposed message and contact restrictions together. Flag missing context instead of inventing personal details. Keep drafts separate from the sending function until the organization’s communication rules are satisfied.
Evaluate usefulness rather than volume
Sample summaries for factual accuracy and ask reviewers how much editing each draft needs. Track inappropriate recommendations and overlooked preferences. A smaller set of relevant, accurate follow-ups is a better operational result than a large queue of generic messages that a team cannot responsibly use.
